Donald Trump has shared a bizarre rendering of a new map of Iran, labelling the Strait of Hormuz as a ‘new US territory’.

The shoddy graphic was shared by the President on his Truth Social platform, labelling the Persian Gulf,Iran, and the Gulf of Oman.

Over the label ‘Strait of Hormuz’,a large red, white and blue star-spangled graphic dubbed it as a ‘NEW U.S. Territory’.

Iran has already hit back at the attempted renaming, with Deputy Foreign Ministry Gharibabadi saying: ‘Just as Trump spelt the name of the Persian Gulf correctly, his illusion about the Strait of Hormuz will soon be corrected.’
